The MERU CBD herbal cream features a unique combination of active ingredients that make it suitable for massage treatments of muscles, the back and the leg area, affecting the joints as well. It is ideal for frequent use, as it refreshes and soothes tense muscles. The product is easy to apply, it absorbs quickly, and leaves no greasy residue. Massage therapists and sportspersons might find this cream ideal for boosting circulation and for muscle relaxation.

Cannabis and rosemary are used in folk medicine to treat musculoskeletal issues. The use of such formulas helps to prevent and/or treat sports injuries, support recovery, relax the muscles, decrease uncomfortable muscle tension and swellings.

Resources claim that CBD oil supports the function of muscles and joints and facilitates regeneration. Cannabis creams, formulas containing CBD and hemp seed oil (based on the experiences of sportspersons) get absorbed through the skin, and have beneficial effects on the skin itself, the muscles, the recovery process and general performance.

Creams with CBD content are easy to use, since they only need to be applied on the skin to get absorbed and offer their beneficial effects. Locally applied CBD creams get quickly absorbed and as such, the active ingredients immediately get to targeted areas. Research shows that CBD has a strong antioxidative effect; formulas containing CBD oil are primarily recommended for treating inflammation and skin-related issues, as well as to facilitate regeneration.

Regarding the local use of CBD creams, there are several publications available online that detail the benefits, such as the improvement of local circulation, the relaxation and regeneration of overexerted and fatigued muscles after sports activities, the relief of muscle and joint pain, and the anti-inflammatory effects on joints.

What is CBD?

CBD is produced within the flowers of the hemp plant, and it is found in industrial hemp species in greater quantities. CBD is a natural substance extracted from hemp (Cannabis sativa L.). CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of the two main molecules of Marijuana, the other one is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is a psychoactive, psychotropic substance, and this gives the “bad reputation” of Marijuana as a drug. CBD oil is a liquid concentrate that offers the benefits of hemp without the hallucinogenic THC, so users remain free from the euphoria-inducing psychotropic effects. As opposed to THC, CBD is not an addictive substance.

Since legally sourced CBD oils and products do not contain THC, the law allows them to be sold in Hungary. Oils, capsules and cosmetics with CBD content can be legally distributed in Hungary.

CBD is an antioxidative and anti-inflammatory substance that relieves pain and has a soothing effect.

CBD oil is not the same as hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant by pressing, it is rich in Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, and it contains no CBD or other cannabinoid molecules. As an active ingredient, CBD is usually diluted in carrier oil (e.g. olive oil or hemp seed oil), since it is not soluble in water. CBD oil may provide relief from a wide range of problems, improving the quality of life. CBD affects the so-called endocannabinoid system of the human body. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for several processes including cell metabolism and the proper functioning of the nervous system. Apart from having anti-inflammatory and pain-reliever properties, it affects almost all functions of the human body. It may facilitate the breaking down of sugars, it may ease digestion, speed up muscle recovery, and help deeper relaxation.

Cannabidiol has a significantly beneficial effect in pain management as well. Applied externally, it gets absorbed by the skin and decreases joint pain and other inflammatory responses. CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system of the human body in order to facilitate the healing process.

What is CBD and hemp oil (hemp seed oil)?

Hemp oil is not the same as cannabis oil or cannabidiol / CBD oil.

CBD is extracted from hemp, i.e. industrial hemp species high in CBD, and this raw, highly concentrated CBD is then mixed with hemp seed oil in order to make it suitable for commercial use (in various concentrations).

Does CBD oil show up in drug tests?

Theoretically, CBD should not show up in drug tests, since these tests are not made to detect it. The controlled substance detected by drug tests and doping tests is THC, which is a psychoactive substance contained in Cannabis.

Benefits of CBD

The use of CBD oil has several benefits. There is ongoing research regarding the beneficial effects of the non-psychoactive compounds of hemp on pain management and the mitigating of inflammatory responses in the human body. These compounds may become excellent natural alternatives to artificial medications.

ScienceDirect published a study in 2018, which reports on research conducted on mice, the result of which showed that CBD helped lower the inflammation in their bodies. This effect was achieved by inhibiting the release of inflammation-inducing substances.

In 2019, a study published in the Italian journal, La Clinica Terapeutica reports that CBD-enriched ointment applied on the skin significantly reduced scars and inflammatory symptoms.
